Online counselling is done via facetime or skype. it is safe secure and sometimes easier for people to access. Skype is free to download from the internet, easy to install and set up, and, most importantly, is confidential. My laptop is password protected with firewalls and virus checker and I would encourage you to do the same.
The same therapeutic relationship is formed but is formed via a different medium.
The most important part of any therapeutic relationship is that of the client and counsellor, this can be achieved via face time Skype or telephone.
Online counselling is convenient if your lifestyle involves shifts, long journeys to keep appointments, care arrangements for others or frequent travel. It may also help if you find it difficult to speak about your problems to someone in the room.
Online or telephone counselling works with the same online working agreement, keeping the work safe and with boundaries for both parties.
Skype or telephone counselling costs the same as face to face counselling.
£45 for an individual for 50 minutes. All sessions are booked and paid for in advance of our session. a cancellation procedure in place, this must be agreed to.
Cancelled or forgotten appointments: Full fee if not attended, or cancelled within 24 hours of appointment time, £25 if cancelled in the 48 hour previous to the first 24 hours of appointment. This policy has been made due to the high incidence of cancellations on the day or day prior to appointments, thus preventing the therapists from being able to offer the slot to another patient.
At this time I only offer online counselling to individuals, not couples.
